Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps on Android in UAE Q4 2021

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five Maps and Navigation applications on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Careem – rides, food & more saw its weekly downloads increase steadily, starting from approximately 6.3K at the end of September and peaking at around 9.5K in the final week of December. The app's active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, beginning at 76.5K and ending at roughly 73.1K.

2GIS: Offline map & navigation also experienced a positive trend in weekly downloads, which rose from 4.4K at the start of October to around 6.7K by early December. The weekly active users for 2GIS increased consistently, starting at 25.5K and reaching just under 30K by the end of December.

S'hail demonstrated significant growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads surged from about 2.6K in late September to nearly 7.2K by mid-December. Active users followed a similar pattern, growing from 5.9K to approximately 12.8K over the same period.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation showed an upward trend in weekly downloads, which increased from 3.3K in late September to around 5K in the last week of December. The app's active users also rose, beginning at 9.7K and reaching approximately 12.5K by the end of the quarter. Weekly revenue for this app remained stable around $7 to $9.

Aramex Mobile had a varied download pattern, starting at 3.3K in late September, peaking at 4.4K in early December, and settling at about 3K by the end of December. Active users for Aramex Mobile were recorded at around 3.9K in the last week of December.
